This bright piece is a combination of matte and gloss acrylic; the gloss bits are only ‘visible’ when viewed from certain angles. Finished with a strong bronze accent, this piece is painted on premier canvas—-finished all the way around, eliminating the need for framing! It also looks pretty sweet hung vertically.
Patterns of light and shadow create contrast and “invite” the viewer further into the piece. When painting, I remind myself that I am expressing the scene, not reporting it—so as not to get lost trying to capture every minute detail!
